Balloon Production & Retail Sales Assistant

Hours Required

12 hours part-time initially on a temporary basis, with a view to becoming permanent with the possibility of more hours as and when the business grows.

 

Days Required

Every Friday and Saturday, 9:30am - 4pm

£9.50 per hour

The production role is to ensure balloons are prepared and looking perfect in a timely manner for collection from our shop, or to be delivered locally.  The candidate will ideally have creative flair and a keen eye for detail.

 

This role is physically demanding. You will be on your feet for most of the day creating balloon designs.  The orders will determine the workload.  One day you might be inflating latex balloon bunches, the next you might be creating large balloon garlands.

 

The role requires an eye for detail, as each aspect of the role requires perfection.  We always strive to send out the very best quality balloons to our customers.

 

It’s a fun industry to work in, and we are looking for the right team personality, more than experience, as training will be provided.  The role is fast-paced and with orders growing in quantity, you will be expected to maintain a cool head whilst working at speed and with accuracy.

 

In addition to creating top quality balloons, we also have a retail shop which is open 6 days a week selling party supplies and taking new orders for balloons.  This part of the role will require excellent customer service and sales skills.  Retail experience is desirable but not essential.  

 

 

Role Responsibilities

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Inflating balloons daily as per the order requirements.

  • Reading orders in fine detail to make sure that the correct items are made.

  • Applying personalisation to balloons.

  • Working towards multiple time frames during your day.

  • Must be able to work calmly under pressure.

  • Liaising with other team members.

  • You will be working within in a small team so must be confident and reliable and be prepared to help your team members.

  • Booking in and replenishing new stock on shelves.

  • At busy times, you will be expected to go the extra mile to get the jobs completed.

  • This is a diverse and exciting role where you will be expected to complete various tasks on and above the key elements of the job.

  • You may be required to use your own car to deliver balloons locally, expenses will be covered.

  • Full clean driving license and own car is essential.

  • Be happy to be stood for long periods of the day.

  • Physical strength is needed to be able to move around balloon frameworks/stands and hire props – balloons are light but the equipment is not.

  • Smartly presented - uniform will be provided.

  • Confidence in taking order details, using the card payment system, and handling cash.

  • Good computer literacy is essential, specifically using the internet, Microsoft Excel and personalisation software (training provided).
